WISP-Dist
WISP-Dist is an embedded Linux distribution geared to be used as a wireless gateway or an access point, but performs equally well as a general purpose router or firewall. Some of the highlights include user-friendly menu configuration interface, support for most network and wireless cards, traffic shaping, remote upgrade, serial console, dynamic routing (OSPF/RIP), SNMP and a lot more. At the same time, entire system fits in 8 MB disk space and requires only 16 MB RAM, making it ideal for use on embedded motherboards such as Soekris. The goal is to create an open, customizable and easy to use embedded router for ISP needs. Development is sponsored by ThunderWorx.
